This year’s edition of the European Circular Retail Congress has already ended. This conference brings together representatives of the entire value chain of the Retail and FMCG industries in one place. This time the leitmotif of the Congress was “Digitalization in the Era of Sustainable Transformation”.
On the first day of the Congress, which was entirely devoted entirely to the issue of ESG and sustainable development strategies, a discussion panel was held, attended by, among others, representatives of two of Avallon MBO portfolio companies: Andrzej Odzioba, president of the management board of Wosana S.A., and Bartosz Woznicki, member of the management board of Clovin. The panel was also attended by Anna Kozera-Szałkowska, managing director of Plastics Europe Polska and Maciej Włodarczyk, CEO of Iglotex. The debate was moderated by Ewelina Łukasik-Morawska from PwC.
The panelists discussed, among other topics, the impact of the supply chain crisis, inflation and rising energy costs on retail, as well as labour shortages in the sector. The talks also focused on ways for the retail sector to reduce its net emissions and achieve a positive environmental impact.
